derives from both its desirable physical properties and the w ide range of grades in w hich it is available.
A ll D ouglas Fir lum ber is m anufactured, graded and sorted in com pliance w ith the provisions of the
relevant dom estic or foreign grading rule. D ouglas Fir is readily available in the follow ing Canadian grade
classifications:

D ouglas Fir has m any uses and is a w idely specified structural tim ber, w ell regarded by engineers and
builders, especially for structural com ponents and heavy tim ber applications. It is also used extensively
for pilings, railw ay ties, saw m ill and w arehouse construction and num erous other areas w here structural
perform ance is param ount. A fram ing lum ber for both light and heavy construction, D ouglas Fir can be
counted on as strong, stiff, stable w ood.
